Tanwa Morohunkeji Iwayemi


Tanwa Iwayemi stands among Nigeria’s foremost leaders in renewable energy innovation and sustainable power solutions. A COREN SPVI-licensed engineer and Fellow of National Institute of Professional Engineers and Scientist with two decades of experience, she has distinguished herself as a technical expert and project leader, holding advanced degrees in Mathematics, Business Administration, and Energy Engineering. Her doctoral work at the University of North Dakota centers on hybrid energy storage systems, achieving breakthrough results that help address the challenge of renewable energy intermittency.

In her role as COO of AtneSystems Energy, Mrs. Iwayemi has delivered large-scale solar PV and battery storage projects for public, private, and institutional clients, most notably, the 250kW/0.585MWh installation at the Lagos State Multipurpose Agent Complex. Her leadership has driven down energy costs, reduced emissions, and improved reliability for critical infrastructure across Nigeria.

She was honored with the Our Green Award for Excellence in Clean Energy Advancement,” celebrating her distinguished leadership, technical innovation, and impact in Nigeria’s renewable energy sector.

Her outstanding contributions have earned her the 2025 Global Recognition Award for Renewable Power Leadership and the WIRE-A Green Tech Champion Award.
